Floyd Co DHIA awards high milk fat herds in 1973 74
Three Floyd County herds received Dary Herd Improvement Association Production Certificates for surpassing the breed average by at least 10 percent in milk or fat for May 1, 1973 to Apr 20, 1974. A total of 10 Floyd cows produced 11,769 pounds of milk and 457 pounds of fat across 448 cows, with DHIA supervisor Lyle Jepson noting ISU Extension and Iowa Dairy Association jointly issue the awards.

Students stayed in residence halls and ate at the dining facilities while tours introduced department locations and campus buildings. Evening orientation included fraternity and church programs to ease first days on campus.
