Notice from Putnam County Indiana inviting bids for supplies for April and May 1920. Bids due April 5 at 2 PM, submitted in duplicate on blanks provided by the County Auditor. Bidder samples required. R. E. Knoll auditor. March 19 weekly.
Creditors heirs and legatees of Matilda Rightsell must appear in Putnam Circuit Court Green Castle Indiana on April 5 1920 to show cause why final settlement accounts should not be approved and to prove heirship and receive distributive shares. Clerk Harry W Moore signs as Clerk March 12 1920.
The Putnam County Board of Commissioners invites sealed bids by 10 a m April 6 1920 at Greencastle for two gasoline road trucks each 3 1/2 tons capacity to repair county roads. Bids require an affidavit of no collusion and the board may reject any bid. Bond not required.
Word reached S. C. Prevo of the death of Alexander Brice of Columbus Ohio from pneumonia. Brice is the husband of Mr. Prevo’s sister and owns a large Columbus department store. Local prayer meetings are scheduled Wednesday morning at several homes for 9 30 to 10. The Women’s Foreign Missionary Society of the College Avenue Church moves its meeting to Wednesday afternoon at 2 30 at Mrs C F Over’s East Seminary street home. Roy Hillis, once homebound, is back at work in the water works office.
Classified ads list political candidacy for Commissioner third district by J J Hendrix. Also farm labor wanted, home ownership plans, mortgage exemptions via J B Harris and W H Evens, rental housing, piano needed for tabernacle, a farmers meeting in Warren township on March 12 at 7 30, sale of cemetery lots for 50 dollars via J E Hall.
The ceremony occurred Sunday March 3 at the bride’s home in Hamrick Station with Rev. George Templeman officiating. The couple, Miss Elizabeth Kendall and Lawrence Bruner, will reside at Marshall, Illinois, after their wedding.
Hog prices rose 25 to 35 cents at opening with top at 16.25 dollars. Sales ranged 15.50 to 16.25, extra heavy hogs 15.25, pigs 15.50 down. Cattle remained generally steady with calves up to 1.00 higher and sheep priced lower than last week. Local buyers took 3,000 head. remaining lots sold to others.
