William Benjamin Tincher and thirteen others sue A G Brown executor of Harrison B Tincher in Putnam Circuit Court contesting the will and codicils on grounds the deceased was unsound of mind and acted under duress. The final codicil from February 28 1928 gives most of the estate to Otto G Webb valued near 75000 with shares listed for each plaintiff and others claiming various fractions. The defendants include Albert O Alley Andrew Tincher Josephine Lambert and A G Brown.
Frank Evens takes over the Dispatch at Kokomo and travels there daily from Peru. He and Mrs Evens plan to build on their Kokomo lot this summer. Evens, a former Peru paper owner, previously worked in Florida and is brother to Roy Evens of the Greencastle Herald.
A Purdue University aided study of fifteen Putnam County farms from March 1927 to March 1928 found labor incomes averaging 274 dollars per farm. Five farmers earned over 1000, four earned 1 to 900, and six earned less than five percent on capital with no pay for labor. Farms with livestock and diversified income performed best, and those using high protein feeds fared better.
Albert Barlow a 40 year old Republican state legislator from Indiana was killed when his car was struck by a Pennsylvania train at the Hanna crossing near Plainfield. He served two terms in the legislature and was a local merchant survived by his wife and three children.
Coach Hughes and Mrs. Hughes return to Greencastle from Hastings and Lincoln Nebraska and plan to travel to New York City where he will teach in the summer session at Teachers College Columbia University. He will teach football theory athletic administration and intramural athletics observation.
Mrs. Joseph Dickson of New York reported jewelry and personal belongings valued at 25000 dollars stolen from her hotel suite at the Green Park Hotel in London. The loss was reported today by the wealthy society matron.
Gangland attack aimed at Eddie Spike O Donnell in front of his West 63rd Street home ends with his escape and returning fire by his henchmen. The incident mirrors the earlier killing of labor leader and racketeer Big Tim Murphy who was slain outside his home last Thursday night.

Elvin C. Timmons died at his Floyd township home Saturday at 4 AM. He is survived by his wife and two children W. O. Timmons of the city and Mrs Earl Sutherlin of Floyd township. Funeral from the home Monday July 2 at 2 PM.
Roscoe E. Tinkbiner a 25 year old salesman of Indianapolis and Dorothy Buckley a 20 year old stenographer of Indianapolis announce their betrothal. The couple plans a future wedding in the city.
Hazel Vermilion Goethals through attorney sues in Putnam Circuit Court contesting the wills of Flossie F. Houghland and Claudia Carswell. The suits seek to set aside probate, alleging Flossland and Carswell died leaving estates to be used for Franklin College and a Baptist church, with Goethals claiming sole lawful heir status.
The city council will award the Highland Street improvement contract at a special meeting in the fire department building council chambers at 8 o clock tonight. Four contractors submitted bids, with Amos Wendling as the lowest bidder.
Miss Pearl Maze of Cloverdale and Mr and Mrs Charles Gilbert Shaw were uninjured when a Ford sedan driven by Miss Maze was crowded off a road near the Axtell turkey farm between here and Ellettsville. The car wrecked after a green Pontiac roadster passed, the driver failing to stop.
Seventy five guests at the Putnam County Fair Boosters fried chicken dinner in Russellville praised the event as a real party. Eighty five tickets were sold to bring total attendees to 160 as speakers highlighted county fair benefits and the Kitchen Kabinet Orchestra performed.
