Kiwanis Finance Bands Spur City Music Growth
Kiwanis clubs in the United States and Canada financed 81 municipal bands and 69 high school bands and orchestras in the past year. Albert J. Southwick of Logan Utah, chairman of the International Committee on Music, says the effort strengthens community music interest and envisions broader town bands and orchestras amid 1725 clubs and more than 100000 members. He urges multiple song leaders for group singing to avoid overloading a single leader.
