Large crowd enjoys first Greencastle band concert
A large crowd attended the first weekly Thursday concert by the Greencastle band on the Court House lawn. Seventeen numbers were played, the longest program yet, as a new parking plan reduced street noise and allowed better listening. Marshal Braden said the plan will continue next week.

Gilmore Visits Here With Family From Wisconsin
Eugene Gilmore vice governor general of the Philippine Islands and Mrs Gilmore with three children and relatives visited Greencastle Thursday morning. They came from Madison Wisconsin after the University of Wisconsin commencement where their daughter graduated. The Cit izen State Bank of Noblesville was closed by the State Banking Department after an alleged $147 000 shortage in the accounts of O G Patterson assistant cashier. Thomas Thayer, a Russellville and Indianapolis man, was arrested Thursday for intoxication, his second arrest this week. He had earlier faced non support charges in Russellville, promised to pay $25 twice monthly, but returned to Indianapolis jobless and then to Russellville where he drank again, leading Mussellville marshal George Potter to detain him in the county jail.
