Flames of unknown origin destroyed a large barn on the John Shonkwiler farm two miles west of Clinton Falls Thursday afternoon. The same area hosts a graduation horse and upcoming exercises with a Baccalaureate sermon by Dr. George R. Grose in Meharry Hall Sunday morning at 10 20 oclock. Insurance partially covered the loss.

Fire destroys barn and grainery on Shonkwiler farm
A late Thursday afternoon blaze on the John Shonkwiler farm two miles west of Clinton Falls destroyed a barn and grainery. A horse inside the barn died, and about 200 bushels of corn and 250 bushels of oats were lost. Loss runs to several hundred dollars with partial insurance. The fire’s origin is unknown and preceded an electrical storm. the horse could not be saved as flames grew quickly.
