Former Greencastle Man Dies at Soldier's Home

Pahattan B. Elliott, a longtime Greencastle resident and Grand Army member, died Tuesday night at Lafayette Old Soldiers Home after a six week illness. He was 91. Funeral services set for Thursday at 1 20 p.m. at McCurry Funeral Home with Forest Hill Cemetery interment. Reverend Bruney to lead. Elliott had lived in Cloverdale then Greencastle with his son Harry Elliott, now deceased. several grandchildren survive, including Mrs. Keith Roberta, Miss Cade Elliott and Mrs. Ward Roberts of Indianapolis.

Hamlet Tonight by Ben Greet Players Draws SRO

Less than seventy tickets remain for Shakespeare's Hamlet by the Ben Greet Players on the DePauw fine arts program at the Little Theater. A few seats are in the downstairs section and standing room will be available at the door if the house sells out. Tickets are on sale at Stevens Drug Store.

Youths Fined After Pool Room Fight in Keencastle

Lilbran Crawley and Edgar Miller were fined $1 and costs each by Mayor W. L. Denman after an assault and battery in Crawley s pool room. City Marshal Otto Dobbs arrested them following an on street fight that grew from a pool game dispute. Crawley is the son of Ed Crawley. Miller recently reported a $60 robbery on south Indiana street. neither had cash for the fines or bond.

Senior Class Carnival Nets Large Total At High School

The senior class carnival at the high school cleared about 185 dollars from gross receipts near 254 dollars. Proceeds will defray expenses of the annual yearbook. This year's gain exceeds amounts cleared in recent years.
