Mt Olive Man Dies After Hospital Visit
Harold Pitts age 27 of near Mt Olive died at Putnam county hospital about 6 this morning from an intestinal obstruction after four days in care following an operation for acute appendicitis. He left a widow and six children youngest ten days old. Parents Horace and Mrs Pitts and five brothers and three sisters survive. Widow was Miss Erma Haffner. Pitts was a carpenter.

Local Black man dies after Crawfordsville car crash
John W. Wray a 57 year old minister and Mason died after being struck by a sedan driven by Clyde Gillis 19 in front of the Ramsey hotel on east Market street. He died at Culver hospital less than two hours later. Survived by two sons Roscoe of Indianapolis Leonard of Greencastle and daughter Mrs Jesse Street of Toledo. Wife Bertha Wray predeceased him. Wray active in Bethany AME church and Sunday school superintendent. He came to Crawfordsville from Rockville about nineteen years ago and previously worked as a barber.
