In Putnam circuit court today Frank Donner as owner of the building on East Washington Street seeks a judgment and possession plus $460 back rent from Guy L Call, owner of the bankrupt Call Cafeteria. The suit claims four months of unpaid rent at $115 a month, with the building held by Marshal D Abrams as receiver.
The body found dying on State Road 59 south of Brazil is tentatively identified by a lapel badge as Arnville Bush 25 son of D W Bush Danville. Bush a former pugilist had been working in corn fields near Danville and was suspected of involvement with a beer syndicate in Danville, though no proof was known.
An old advisory warns that Christmas decorations and dried Christmas greens pose serious fire risks. It urges avoiding cotton-wool imitations and fragile ornaments, using careful wiring for lights, and not leaving dry greenery indoors beyond two to three days after Christmas. It stresses constant caution during festive cleanup.
Mandy's Sanitary Dairy of Greencastle plans to introduce sweet cream butter made from pasteurized cream. A new churn and North Greencastle Handy plant upgrade will support the operation with Mr. C. Tl. Hornidaty overseeing churning and cream handling.
Eugene Miles, 30, of 04 Maple Avenue, was arrested by city police Sunday night on suspicion of stealing clothing from the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority house on South Locust Street during Thanksgiving vacation and released from jail today. Miles says he bought the items from an unknown man. officials doubt his story as no charges were filed.
Bud Lakin son of Mr and Mrs O F Lakin of East Washington street was operated on for appendicitis last night at 10 o clock in St Anthony’s hospital in Terre Haute His condition was reported good this morning

Ruby Blair and Mike Blair from Detroit were arraigned before Judge James PO Hughes in the Putnam county court on charges of vacancy. They were released after promising to leave the county and not return. Charlee Rogers of Broadpark filed the complaint claiming relatives from Detroit brought them to his home and refused to depart. Deputy Sheriff Alva Bryan investigated at the Rovers home Tuesday.
The Greencastle fire department was called to north Jackson street near the Monon restaurant around 3:80 this morning. A truck owned by Toney Cancilla caught fire in front of the eatery. the blaze was extinguished upon arrival, with only slight damage believed due to defective wiring.
Putnam county health nurse Mary Aenes Miller was called to Morton school this morning. It is reported an epidemic of skin disease has broken out at the school with most pupils affected.

Mayfield Fitchett named custodian for the State House in Indianapolis. Mr and Mrs Bradford Jones sell their Putnamville area farm to David Sutherlin of Boatdale. W P Ledbetter joins a Mason class at the Mystic Shrine in Terre Haute last evening.
Indianapolis reports secretary John Hewitt disclosed mail order houses operating nation wide promising high pay for at home work such as sewing and making garments. Victims pay deposits of 150 to 200 dollars then receive no work and may be renamed firms. Perkins notes scam preys on unemployed families seeking income during high joblessness.
Virgil Blue of Belle Union broke his right wrist early today while cranking a tractor at his home. A Greencastle physician reduced the fracture. He is a brother of Elmer Blue of East Washington Street.
Billy Shaw of Detroit featherweight was knocked out by Tracy Cox of Greencastle in the fifth round of a ten round bout at the Armory in Indianapolis. Shaw had a knockdown in the second round and again in the fourth as Cox pressed the pace and dominated, with a disputed low blow claim ignored after the KO.
Miss Ruth Nichols, society girl from Rye New York, leaves Wichita to reach Roosevelt Field New York in a single hop aiming to surpass the women’s record. Her 7 hours 1 minute from Los Angeles to Wichita set a new benchmark, with six minutes shy of Frank Hawks’ single hop record and within reach of Lindbergh’s route.
The Purple Towers operetta will be presented by Reeleville minisic etidente at Reeleville High on Thursday December 11 at 7:00 p.m. under Mrs. Helen Jarrell. The production follows a rich heiress mistaken for a cook as two parties rent her mansion. Cast includes Hank Huckleberry Raymond Grimes Mike Murphy George Rissler Karl Parker Willard Dreher Red Nichols Carl Craft Ruth Skelton Nettie Cloe Helen Trumbull Charlene Wendall Margaret Donald Glendon Anderson and a large chorus of townspeople and guests.
C. C. Gillen announces Terre Haute reporter Marvin Carter as private secretary for his term as congressman-elect in Indiana. Carter, 24, has worked on the Terre Haute Tribune and held Democratic central committee ties. He graduated from Garfield High and Terre Haute Teachers College.
