Putnam County breeder Harry Stamp topped Belgian horse winnings at the International livestock show with Roachdale Hazel, a 2 year old mare that won the Belgian mare cup and reserve grand champion. Stamp, a noted breeder and Master Farmer, has long led in Indiana Belgian horses and may sell the prized Roachdale Hazel. Roscoe Bennett of Brazil was found not guilty on a child neglect charge in Putnam circuit court. The case, filed by his ex wife Lillie Bennett, accused him of failing to support a family of eleven as ordered in 1929. Bennett testified he could not work enough to meet the $8 weekly payments.

Death of Rev. Oscar F. Lane at 82 in Putnam County
The death of Rev. Oscar F. Lane aged 82 occurred early Saturday at his son Frank Lane’s home north of Brick Chapel Putnam County. Lane, a prominent local citizen, died from heart trouble after a brief illness. Born May 5 1848 in Putnam County he married Mary E. Wendley on October 21 1872. Funeral at Greencastle Christian Church Sunday at 1 50 PM Rev B H Braner in charge. Burial Bainbridge. He served as a minister and preached first sermon January 4 1865 built deep roots in the Christian church. Burial details follow at Rector Funeral parlors.

Injured Cloverdale man in critical condition after crash
Ed Moore about 25 employed by a Pipe Line company at Cloverdale was seriously injured Friday night when his car struck a telephone pole on the National Road four miles east of Plainfield. He was rushed to Robert Long Hospital Indianapolis and was unconscious at 9 30 this morning.
