Noahs Ark Exploration Association Receives Charter

Chicago December 4 The Noahs Ark Exploration Association received a charter to search for Noahs ark. William J Strong with H H Lurie and F W Thorne lead the effort to fund and coordinate a search for the ark for the 1933 worlds fair. Offices opened and airplanes will be used in the effort.

James Humphrey aged resident of Mr. Meridian is reported critically ill after a hit and run on Martinsville street Saturday around 11 30. He and his grandson were walking waiting for Virgil Humphrey to return with gasoline when the accident happened.

Former DePuy President May Be Council Head

The New York Times reports Bishop Francis J. McConnell of the New York area as slated to become president of the Federal Council of Churches of Christ in America. The council starts its sixth quadrennial meeting in Rochester, while Rev. Dr. B Parks Cadman’s term ends. Cadman is not eligible for re-election. McConnell, 57, assumed his New York charge last May after eight years as bishop of the Pittsburgh area.

Big crowd fills court house for gift distribution event

A large downtown crowd attended Tuesday night’s gift distribution by merchants of the Chamber of Commerce at the court house assembly room. Winners received cash and goods such as Kodak cameras, furniture, clothing, and shop vouchers, with prizes announced by judges Samuel Hanna L. E. Mitchell and Miss Ruth Owens.
