Four injured in West Walnut Street crashes near Greencastle
A Greencastle garageman Lee McKamey and Indianapolis men David Rieger M A Lansing and John Speicher plus Speicher’s car owner suffered injuries when Speicher’s car left the road over an embankment by the Big Four bridge and McKamey’s motorcycle crashed near the Big Walnut creek. Speicher sustained broken ribs and facial cuts while McKamey was rushed to Putnam County Hospital with head injuries later released. other men had minor injuries. A separate Danville area crash injured Mrs. Clifford Dickerson lightly after a hog strike on the Danville New Maysville road.

A south bound Monon freight train wrecked near 7 30 in Cloverdale when the engine struck an obstruction and left the tracks. It dragged five cars, tore up tracks, and a wrecking crew cleared debris overnight with regular traffic resumed this morning.
