The Commercial club of Greeley elected a new board of directors last Monday. Retained members earned praise for past work while J. M. B. Petrikin received special credit for leading the club’s efforts, notably solving the Empson Packing Company funding with bank assistance. W. C. Wilson credited for initiating contact with the Empsons.
The city may confront a fight between private and municipal electric power as Central Power seeks Northern Colorado Power assets. Citizens weigh options from municipal ownership to new plants or leveraging old pumping facilities, fearing graft and rising costs.
The city has a full decree guaranteeing sufficient water for a population possibly rising to 15,000. Croakers about the new works can rest easy as the ordinance provides the needed supply and confidence for future growth.

John Galvin aged 71 was beaten and robbed while sleeping in a straw stack near the McElroy home northeast of the city last Monday night. He traveled from Wallace Nebraska to work in potato fields and to buy better clothes for a visit, lost a silver watch and fifty cents, and is recovering at Weld County Hospital. Sheriff Florance and Marshal Eugene Williams aided the victim and saved his account of the assault.
W N Roller, George Roller and F J Giddings were returning to Fort Collins from Laramie when their car toppled off an embankment near Laramie. All suffered injuries with George Roller badly hurt from a broken hip. They are bridge contractors in Fort Collins.
