Fort Morgan Times reports Mr. 8. D Karns of Wano Kansas visiting to discuss feed and flouring mill plans. A Southern Illinois go cart passes through town with wild looking occupants. Communication from Denver dated March 16 1885 pledges canal interests protection and post sale welfare by Fort Morgan Irrigation Co and Traveler's Insurance Co.
Town Trustees acquired the King and Smith ditches and a water right in Sterling ditch with water to be furnished to every lot. H B Freelove of Greeley bought Front street lots and plans to stay. Two large land and ditch transactions were recently noted near Sterling.
The Boulder Herald reports John will edit the Lovelane Reporter until Mrs. Bruner can sell the same. Capt Tyler's placer claim on South Boulder is leased to a Chinaman who plans to hire about fifty men this summer. The Casey child died Monday morning after a scarlet fever illness. City council set next year’s appropriations including water bonds interest 4400, streets 2500, water works repair 500, fire department 1300, public building improvements 300, drainage 60,000, and debt service.
Fort Collins Council passes annual appropriation of 14 550 for interest on bonds and city expenses. Q Tenney lays line for a new irrigating ditch on Judge Alden’s Box Elder Canon ranch. Professor Adams once mined diamonds in Southern Africa. Coal prospectors abandon a bore at 130 feet and relocate a mile south. Edward Sutter loses part of his thumb in a buzz saw accident. John Beers sustains a cut and arterial damage from a flying steel piece. A. H. Patterson returns from Cheyenne chasing a swindler named J K and a plan to recapture and press charges over mortgage fraud.
