Mrs A Alexander Mr and Mrs James Fortune of Big Bend and Mrs Earl Aldridge of Denver were in town Saturday. Mr and Mrs J M Collins spent Saturday in Greeley. Their home is Crawford Nebraska and they have spent several months in Colorado. Miss Gretchen Smith of Los Angeles is in Greeley visiting her grandmother Mrs B N Smith. Charles Kendrick, a sign artist, has taken up a homestead near Dover and may open a sign shop here. He hails from Billings Montana. Mrs L C Baker of Lafayette has been visiting her daughter Mrs Walt Ennis and friends for a week and left Friday for Evans and Platteville.

Residents travel and relocate across states from Erie to St. Louis and Denver. A new Greeley Republican Publishing Co. is formed with capital of 20000 by Hansen and Wiedmann. Schools plan to hire a new teacher for high school English history and math. A hailstorm damages crops and farm losses are noted along with several local social and civic activities.
Judge and Mrs Hawks depart Thursday for Boulder to attend the chautauqua, an annual event they have joined since its founding eleven years ago. Their daughter Mrs Snyder of Los Angeles will also attend.
Deputy Sheriff Peterson obtained a herd of nine sheep in Windsor on Wednesday. The sheep belonged to Charles Sarratie and were encumbered by a mortgage held by a Denver livestock company.
Methodist choir members were entertained Friday evening at the home of Mr and Mrs James Clark. They met at the church, rode in a tallyho, and spent the evening with lawn games. Refreshments of strawberries and cake were served.
Gipson reports continued flood damage along the Poudre with a Big hole at Boyd bridge trapping a wagon and guarding efforts at headgates. Meadows and fields flooded include about fifty acres of hay and grain. fifteen acres of beets destroyed. losses also hit beets, beer? and Price farm renter.
W F Beckett arrives with daughter Alma and son Stafford from Omaha to settle in Greeley this fall. The six member family, all skilled musicians, includes a bandmaster who led the Genoa Industrial School Indian band and contributed at the Chicago World’s Fair. Alma Beckett plans an art studio at 1118 Seventh Avenue.
At a Monday afternoon meeting the Ault school district voted 7,500 to bond for a new building. Thirty six in favor and twenty six opposed, marking a west side victory as directors seek a site likely on Gracie's edition or Callahan's.
Mr and Mrs Jens Jeremaissen marked their eighteenth wedding anniversary with close relatives including Chris Nelson and family of Greeley Anton Anderson and family and Nels Anderson of Eaton and the Andersons of Ault. Mrs Jeremaissen received fine cina and silver gifts. They married at Springfield Nebraska after engagement abroad and have lived in Iowa Wisconsin before moving to Colorado eleven years ago praising the state.
Special agents of the Union Pacific crackdown on brakemen who took payments from tramps to allow rides in freight cars. At Rawlins J J Carter received fifteen months in the penitentiary and at Echo two brakemen pleaded guilty to taking money from hobos. Money was marked and found with the trainmen. They face highway robbery charges and five more men are under arrest along the line for similar offenses.

The Burlington line carries a dynamo electric lighted special to Colorado with departure on May 23 at 9 30 A M and arrival in Chicago at 4 30 P M after a thirty hour journey.
City council considers extending the sewer system from Thirteenth Avenue through Block 12 to Fourteenth Avenue. Designated Sewer District No 40 the project would be eight inch pipe or larger. Costs allocated between city warrants and assessments on adjacent property with a Sewer District 40 Fund. Passed and adopted July 1909 with publications in the Greeley Tribune.
