Representatives from the Cataphonic Medical Institute of Philadelphia arrive for an advertising visit offering free consultations examinations and medicines for chronic diseases and deformities. They claim to cure deafness catarrh weak lungs rheumatism and nervous system ailments using cataphoresis and electricity with no charge for medicine on first treatment.
About forty Greeley Commercial club members visited Highlandlake on June 13 in ten autos. The trip showcased Godfrey Bottoms and Hillsboro, enjoyed a home dinner at Rufus Mead’s, and discussed a new road linking the county seat with Denver. Officials praised the day, noted mud holes and planned improvements such as stone syphoning and a future electric line connecting towns.
Fred B Jewell of Morgan County was convicted of second degree murder in district court for shooting John Strassheim on the Jewell ranch near Fort Morgan last August. A new trial motion was granted with 30 days for arguments. he awaits sentencing or another hearing in Weld County jail. The case moved here by change of venue from Morgan County amid local sentiment.
