Moffat road excursion to aid Weld park fountain
The June 28 Tribune organized Moffat road trips from Greeley to Tolland in Boulder park with an optional Continental Divide detour. Proceeds fund a new park fountain. Departures from Ault at 7 am and Greeley at 7:30 am, returning by 9 pm. Fare is 3 from Greeley, higher from nearby stations, with a $1.50 add-on for the Divide trip.

Igos Celebrate Eighth Anniversary with Dinner Party

Ambitious Standley Lake irrigation project announced
A major storage and irrigation scheme near Semper and Lafayette advances with full funding in hand. The plan centers on Standley lake and additional reservoirs fed by ditches to supply Weld county areas including Erie Platteville Fort Lupton and beyond. The Standley lake dam would be about one mile long and 100 feet high with a cement core and dirt embankments. The lake would span three miles by two miles covering 1700 acres with initial cost estimates from 1 million dollars upward.

Tragic coal mine accident claims 14 year old in Eaton shaft
John A Lawton aged fourteen was killed at the Loomis and Bennett coal mine in Eaton last Sunday morning. He and his father John Lawton planned to descend for coal. The boy downed his father and tried to descend the opposite shaft. The loaded cage pulled the coal car into the shaft, fatally striking the boy forty five feet from the bottom and causing his death shortly after.

The Greeley chapter invited twelve Fort Collins sisters to an afternoon gathering at Mrs J B McCutcheon’s home. A luncheon, marguerite decor, and watercolored favors marked the event. Mrs Florence Sharp Dies After World Journey
Mrs Florence Sharp daughter of W B Wooley a noted Eaton potato buyer died in a Denver hospital after traveling from Burmah to Colorado to be with her children. She and her husband Mr Sharp had gone to Burma as Baptist missionaries. she leaves a husband and three small daughters.
