Bloodless Battle On Eighth Avenue Ends With Arrests
Sunday after noon a clash on Eighth avenue near the Marsh gallery involved Red Darnell Ernest Bruce Spencer and Walter Sheppard with two revolvers razor and shotgun. Darnell withdrew after bystander pressure. Watchman Ahrend arrested Darnell for disturbing the peace and officers later detained the three negro men and a woman after a chaotic street fracas ending at the county jail.

In Boise Idaho Rowley Harris a Denver tailor summoned as a witness in the Moyer Haywood trial describes Orchard ordering a large lead globe like container from the Denver plumber for a plant basket. Harris received 1.50 for making the alleged bomb case while the plumber was away.

Boy Beebe Fatally Killed Jumping Freight Car
Orville Beebe a twelve year old son of Mr and Mrs G B Beebe of Ninth avenue near Sixth and Seventh streets was instantly killed last Friday afternoon while attempting to jump onto a tank car near the Greeley sugar factory. He slipped under the wheels and died at once. An inquiry found the boy at fault and the body was taken to Coroner Macy’s undertaking rooms. About forty from Greeley attended the Denver races last Saturday and fifty from the city spent Sunday there.

Poudre Valley and Firm Reach Big Irrigation Agreement

Barns Burn on Clark Property at Corner of Ten Ave and Fourth St
A small barn and several outbuildings burned to the ground on the Clark property at Tenth avenue and Fourth street last Friday forenoon. The adjacent barn on M. P. Spencer place, across the alley, was damaged considerably. Fire is believed to have started from a boy’s match and cigarette combination.

Two Northern Colorado Power employees bound over in copper wire theft
Whaples superintendent and Robinson wire chief of the Northern Colorado Power company were bound over to the district court on a charge of stealing about 600 dollars worth of copper wire. The pair allegedly hid the wire at the electric light plant and sold it to Denver junk dealer Sam Radetsky via agent Harry Mandel. The trial starts today as officers traced the copper from shipment to sale.

Riverside irrigation district plans bonding of 8717 500 to obtain 1201 reservoir rights while selling 500 rights for 162 500 cash. The $880 000 project funds a 2 400 000 000 cubic foot capacity reservoir with a 52 mile outlet ditch to irrigate about 30 000 acres along the Platte near Weld Morgan counties.

Dam Break at Chambers Lake Washes Poudre Valley Roads
The Chambers lake dam failed early last Saturday morning sending a flood down the Poudre valley. It washed out mountain roads and multiple bridges while causing damage on the flats near Fort Collins. Crop loss remained minimal around Greeley as floodwaters overran river banks in places. Chambers lake holds about 62 million cubic feet of water, and damage worsened with the river running back full from melting snow.
