Normal High School Commencement Festivities Highlight Year
The seventh annual commencement at Normal high school celebrated thirty graduates with a full week of events. Highlights included junior receptions at the Camfield, the class sermon by Rev. W. A. Philips, a class day program in the high school, and the Diecken play Martin Chudzlewit with a 26-person cast. The piece ended with a May 25th class day exercises and a strong musical program. Also noted: Colorado recorded eleven thousand four deaths in 1907 and detailed disease counts, with Denver sustaining a high death toll.

Anglers Warned as Open Season Brings Fine Odds
The fishing season opened last Saturday as nimrods sharpen gear for the annual hill migration. A game warden is noted behind every bush to enforce the rules, including a trout length limit of seven inches. Last year anglers paid fines up to fifty dollars for undersized catches. Meanwhile the Congregational choir held a Wednesday indoor picnic after a weather disruption, with about thirty five members attending prayer meeting and a basement suite of games and coffee.

Accident fatality on railroad near Kersey claims Wagner
Last Wednesday afternoon Joseph Wagner residing near Kersey was struck by the Union Pacific Chicago Flyer and thrown about twenty five feet dying almost instantly. He was walking the track and did not hear the whistle until too late. He leaves a wife and four children. Coroner Macy ruled no inquest was needed.

Una Voce Club Dance Dazzles At Academy Hall
The Una Voce club held a Wednesday evening dance in Academy hall with elaborate decorations. Green and white festoons, palms and ferns, screened booths, pictures on walls, Navajo seats, and a U. S. illuminated wall created a festive atmosphere. Moonlight dances used a full moon as lighting. Ices and wafers were served by Edna Camfield and Mamie Hopkins to fifty five couples.
