The state board of agriculture left Fort Collins without resolving agri cultural college issues. Out of town members departed, pending investigation. Captain Rockfellow, board president, said no statements until the investigation, with Dr. Corwin to be contacted. The committee will meet to pursue facts. Routine business included renewing the horse breeding station contract to June 1909 and authorizing bids for an irrigation building up to $25,000.

Seven Hoboes Arrested After Salmon Car Theft
Seven hoboes were found stealing a ride in a Union Pacific salmon car toward Denver. They were pulled off at Greeley and jailed. Saturday they faced preliminary arraignment and were bound over for district court action.

W E Kinsella came back from Winnipeg after attending his brother’s funeral. He notes farmers across Iowa and Minnesota are wearing life preservers due to ongoing floods from heavy rains. Crops are mostly ruined and corn must be replanted once rain ends, while cyclones and floods worsen conditions east. The average man in Colorado feels relief by comparison.

Our Fair Forests Pulp Wood Use and Pulp Production Report
A preliminary census and forest service report shows U.S. pulpwood use at 3,962,660 cords last year, about double 1899. More than 2.5 million tons of pulp were produced, with spruce accounting for 68 percent of wood pulp. Hemlock ranks next, and imports of spruce rose sharply as domestic supply tightens. Beaver State leads pulp output with Wisconsin, New York, and Maine as top producers.
