Memorial Day Observances At Evans With Parade And Services
Memorial Day events at Evans proceeded despite threatening weather. Parade assembled at Youngs hall headed to the church at ten, featuring the band G A R W R C school children and townspeople. Rev Frank Dametz delivered the address at the church and Rev Coffman preached Sunday sermon. After cemetery visit a basket supper at Youngs hall followed for veterans families band and dramatic club. Decorations included flags bunting and flowers with songs and a duet by Mrs Lafayette Ryan and Mr Gray and an instrumental by Miss Gertie Hulfsmith.
