Myrtle Coyne, 21, a Greeley native and former Normal student, was awarded a divorce from James J. Coyne after a three month marriage. She testified he drank for three days, abused her, threatened murder with a butcher knife, and forced her to pawn jewelry. The Finch family, long respected in Greeley, stated he had threatened to wipe out the family if the case continued, and a warrant against Coyne was reported.
Theron Hall a 90 year old man was beaten and driven from his home by Samuel Jackson and his former wife who is now married to Hall. Jackson is jailed on assault and battery charges with a heavier charge to be pursued. The old man bears head and facial injuries. Neighbors advise suit for divorce and to challenge deeds.
Eastern investors still seek real estate in Weld county and north of Ault as J C Latshaw expands with 488 acres near Carr. Latshaw moved here from Town last year buying 1630 acres, selling the whole tract at a good profit and moving to Englewood near Denver to focus on other interests while retaining faith in the dry land country.

Rollins and Sons of Denver paid the highest premium this week for a Windsor district school issue of 2000 dollars. The firm took the bonds at 6 percent and paid a premium of 1175 dollars. Bonds are described as fifteen year characters.
Thieves broke into Tyler and Sprinkle Hardware in Ault Saturday night, taking about $150 in cutlery plus $10 in cash and a $20 check. Entry was through a back window. glass was smashed and blood was found on the safe door and display cases. Two unknown men, observed earlier in the evening, are suspected. clerk recalls one lingered at the case before the burglary.
A large crowd filled the Opera House for a Decoration Day service by G A R and allied groups with Rev Dubber delivering a sermon honoring fallen soldiers and heroic mothers. The program included hymns, readings, and a memorial sermon titled The Living Dead, followed by a cemetery observance with a star spangled program at the G A R monument and an Armory program featuring the Gettysburg address and Memorial Hymn America.
A vacant near completed residence of C F Ahlstrand at Seventh avenue and Eighteenth street was set on fire by tramps early Sunday. The blaze gutted the interior, burned a floor hole, and damaged the structure by fire and water, with losses reaching several hundred dollars.
Memorial Sunday observances at the Ault Armory featured full dress Company C with local veterans present. A crowd filled the building for special choir music from town church selections and a sermon by Rev. Jesse Buswell of the Congregational church.
Indian Smith from Ker sey faced a beating cow case but entered nolle contendre Saturday evening. He paid about 23 dollars in costs and was dismissed. The calf, sprained in shipment, was tied up by Smith and driven two miles to his ranch. deputies found it well cared for.
