Basin of Large Capacity Will Store Water for Union and Latham Ditches
A new 950 acre reservoir with 850 million cubic feet capacity completes the Union and Latham ditch system in northern Colorado. It will water about 12 000 acres even without full river flow, drawing from St Vrain creek near Longmont and feeding via a 250 foot concrete tunnel to Spring Gulch and into the Platte before reaching the Union and Latham ditches. The project, originated by Union stockholders and later joined by Latham stockholders, includes a natural lake of 250 million cubic feet and long canal and ditch routes through Beebe Draw Ker sey and Box Elder valley.

John E. Painter of Roggen, a leading Weld county stock raiser, said in Greeley that current cattle prices hardly affect stockmen as most sold out last year. John P Roberts bought a second hand gasoline engine from Scott Supply in Denver to run the pump on his Lucerne area farm. The engine failed to operate and Roberts refused payment of about 575 dollars. the jury found for Rob erts in fifteen minutes and the plaintiffs may appeal to the district court.
