Drank lye water by mistake. man in critical condition

Joese Madwards, 22, is in a serious condition at Mercy Hospital Denver after accidentally drinking a glass of lye water at a ditch camp six miles south of LaSalle. He was rushed to hospital with Dr Horton attending, with outcome yet unknown in the following days. Ruth Scoville, once living in Greeley and Fort Collins, was killed by Frederick Shenk in San Francisco.

In Judge Hatch's court Friday evening Burger Brothers Supply of Denver sought to set aside the sale of the M. J. Kemper barber shop to W. C. Crist and Ben Kinney, alleging creditor fraud. Judge Hatch refused the request. Nixon and Mann represented the plaintiffs.

Greeley Chautauqua Association Forms at City Hall

The Greeley Chautauqua association held its first meeting at the city hall Friday evening. Professor C. K. E. Carter chaired. Thirteen directors were named and a three member committee formed to draft articles of incorporation. The for profit group will be capitalized at $10,000. Executive committee meets Tuesday evening in the offices.

Evangelist J Wilbur Chapman Draws Crowds in Far East

The YMCA networks in China and Korea report large crowds for meetings led by evangelist J Wilbur Chapman and associate Charles M Alexander with interpreters. Seoul Shanghai Nanking Canton Hankow Pekin Tientsin hosted crowded gatherings. A Chinese convert noted alongside President Chang Po Ling’s earlier conversion. Dr James L Gale hails Chapman as delivering a universal message. Alexander spurred Koreans to sing and loosen generations of modesty, surprising Chinese Christians and missionaries with vibrant hymn singing.
