Arrival of the Brockway brothers at Greeley station
On December 11 1873 two lumbermen, David and Jeremiah Brockway, arrived at Greeley to join Thompson’s saw mill. Their log drive from Brockway Canada drew wonder, and the arrival of their large family of fifteen sparked months of local chatter. Today Mr and Mrs David Brockway remain in Greeley with many descendants nearby.

Held Up Near City Hall By Masked Bandit
F B Miriam a city clerk was robbed of about eight dollars by a masked man in an alley off Ninth Avenue near the Odd Fellows hall. The holdup occurred near the city hall as the victim walked home. Marshal Williams ordered guard details at the trains while police pursued the suspect description but no arrest yet. The victim reported the fearsome boldness of the crime and his quick report to the station.
