Arthur Huffemith, eleven, while sleeping rose, unlocked a window screen, and walked outside to fall ten feet to the cellar door then the ground. He awoke after twenty minutes with bruises and scrapes, left to stay on the ground floor to avoid further falls. He is visiting grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Huffemith, Denver.
The town council employs George Sethman of Denver as consulting engineer to estimate the cost of the proposed Milliken waterworks and report. Sethman, engineer for the Lupton plant now under construction, will prepare the assessment.
The heating plant contract at Colorado Teachers College was awarded to Speer and Jacobs of Greeley for the building and installation, with St. John Plumbing of Denver handling the boiler and iron fixtures. The $25,000 appropriation covers the project, which aims to power current and future campus buildings and be ready by fall. The board also approved $7,000 for new training school furniture, emphasizing sanitary, high quality desks and chairs.
Tomorrow at 2 30 the Spade will face the Cottrell team of Denver in what promises to be a strong contest. The Denver visitors are described as the best in the city this year with new material making them tougher than before. Gormley may start for Greeley while LaSalle’s leg improves and he returns to second.
Claude W. Clements and Miss Anna Pierce of Cheyenne fled to Greeley to marry. They sought a license, faced a telegram from the bride’s parents signaling a delay, then married at the Methodist parsonage with Rev. R. A. Chase officiating. The message was a ploy to locate them.
Plans are under way for a family Fourth of July celebration at Seelys Lake including a high diver from the city, boat races, and aquatic events. A daylong dance with a top orchestra is promised and the full program will be announced soon.

The marriage of Mrs. D. B. Worley of Greeley and Ivan L. Miller of Denver occurred Thursday afternoon with a few friends present. The couple then departed by train for Denver to establish their future residence. Miss Ethel Worley, daughter of the bride, leaves tomorrow for Kansas City to work as a stenographer in an insurance office.
A Greeley man, determined to swat a breakfast fly, missed the insect and caused chaos. He struck the coffee pot spilling hot liquid on his wife, stepped on the cat, toppled a chair through the china closet door, and inflicted about Steen dollars in damage as the fly escaped.

Teachers at the Normal School revive old world folk dances this summer. The 1:30 p.m. class in the gymnasium has 45 enrolled with more expected Monday. Dances from English Swedish German Finnish and Irish traditions were to be shown later in public exhibitions and outdoor programs.
Chicago shares a heat driven potato price surge as Virginia new potatoes hit 6.40 a barrel on South Water Street. Wholesale dealers blame Texas and Missouri potato crop failures for the spike. Daily arrivals plummet from about 27 cars to only three today, signaling tight supply.

Bids were opened this morning for the erection of the new high school. Nine bidders submitted offers, two withdrew last minute. Figures hover around 130000 dollars, with George Elliott favored to land the job. The board will let the contract this afternoon after ongoing tabulation and adjustments among sub bidders.
The annual faculty reception for summer Normal students was held on campus in the reception hall. Perfect weather highlighted the evening with multicolored lights on trees and shrubs and a large orchestra directed by J Kendel. Dr and Mrs Snyder led the receiving line greeting over 500 students as light refreshments were served.
E B Garfield a Platteville homesteader is bonded $500 after a complaint by Mrs Mary Briscoe who says she only wants him to marry her in November. The case hinges on a blue eyed baby and Uncle Sam as both seek final proof on their homesteads. They delayed marriage to keep land, but agreed to wed once government land claims are secured. The November court term will hear the matter.
Gregg and Wilkinson have started work on the district well to supply water for the coming year. James Tuplin visited Greeley yesterday. The Galeton school building contract is awarded to James Tuplin who will begin work immediately. The building will feature up-to-date furnishings and materials.
The new red brick school house with a dark green roof and white trim will be ready for occupancy around August 1. Miss Mabel Dellin, last year’s teacher, has signed to return and is visiting an uncle in Michigan.
James Angel and M. R. Stevens of Wellington were visitors in Greeley over Friday.

Bishop W. A. Quayle, a renowned platform orator, will lecture tonight at the Methodist church on Shylock and David and then occupy the pulpit tomorrow morning. His first visit to Greeley is anticipated to draw a large audience due to his nationwide reputation.
