Colorado Senate reverses on judges pay raise recall
In Denver the Colorado Senate gave final approval to a bill boosting judicial salaries from 27 500 to 35 000 for Supreme Court justices and from 22 500 to 28 001 for district judges. Hours later the chamber voted 18 13 to recall the measure from the House, with Sen Hank Brown seeking a two year phase in. The recall sends the bill back to the Senate as if it had not passed final reading. The House had already approved the bill.

U S propane exports rise amid energy crunch
Representative Les Aspin charged that during the energy shortage U S propane exports increased about 50 percent in early 1973 to 1.5 million barrels with most going to Mexico and Japan. He blamed oil firms for harming Midwestern farmers as propane prices nearly tripled from 3.10 to 9.20 per barrel. AIP countered contracts for shipments abroad were set in 1972 and not renewed, with new deals underway to import gas. The Four Corners supply to Northern Mexico supports critical demand, with no economical Midwest or East shipment option.
