Lung infection hospitalizes ex POW Gostas
The ex POW Theodore Gostas of Sheridan Wyoming remained hospitalized at Carswell Air Force Base Hospital Dallas for a lung infection after pneumonia diagnosis. He was a Vietnam War captive for five years before release in March. Doctors to decide Monday on transfer possibly to Fitzsimons Army Medical Center. The Sheridan plans to honor Viet Nam veterans with Gostas as guest of honor. event possibly postponed.

Shell Oil strike ends at Norco refinery after union vote
The 28 day strike at Shell Oil Company's Norco refinery ends as Local 4750 of the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers Union votes 185 to 159 to accept a new two year contract. The pact includes revised safety rules, pension tweaks, work clothes for coker workers, and a 6 percent wage rise plus 27 cents starting 1974. Safety control remains a point of contention.

Black Lung Benefits Revised for Miners and Survivors
