Seven Coloradans die in Nebraska plane crash
A single engine Cherokee PA-32 crashed near Amherst Nebraska, killing five members of a Northglenn Colorado family and a Thornton couple. Victims were Larry Hall 31 and his wife Sharon 28 with their children Larry Susan and Aaron, and Douglas Stanley 24 with his wife Annette 22. The victims were en route from Denver to Omaha to visit relatives and attend a Detroit wedding. FAA and NTSB investigations are underway with wreckage scattered over a 10 acre area nine miles north of Amherst.

Colorado Springs crime rate rises 16.9 percent
FBI figures released in Washington show Colorado Springs posting a 16.9 percent rise in overall crime for the first nine months of 1972 compared with 1971. Denver also rose 4.4 percent, with murder up 20.2 percent and rape up 18.2 percent.

Suburban Denver police form regional cooperation coalition
Suburban Denver police forces form the Regional Suburban Police Association to share manpower and equipment for crime fighting. The group includes Lakgood, Arvada, Broomfield, Cherry Hills Village, Northglenn, Englewood, Edgewater, Littleton, Brighton, Thornton, Wheat Ridge, Aurora, Commerce City, Sheridan and Westminster. Denver will cooperate including use of the helicopter, though not a member. Rex Hand, a local resident, found the wreckage.

Colorado weighs proposal to exempt heavy recreational vehicles
A bill to exempt noncommercial vehicles weighing over 4,500 pounds from Colorado's low mileage highway tax will be introduced in the coming general assembly. Rep. Eldon Cooper says the measure would exclude heavy campers, small pickup trucks pulling trailers, and heavy utility vehicles used for family transportation from the tax based on weight and miles driven.

Porter Schumann hold Paris peace talks meeting
William J. Porter head of the U S delegation met for 45 minutes with Foreign Minister Maurice Schumann in Paris. A spokesman gave no details or timing and American officials declined to comment. Earlier talks involved Jack Kubisch and Vo Yan Sung with the French minister.
