Campion slay suspect returned to Colorado
Fort Collins police extradited 19 year old George Tracy Ellis from Casper Wyoming after a fatal strangulation at Campion. Ellis, charged with murder robbery and assault, was arrested in Midwest Wyoming following a stolen car report. Police say he may have lived with the two elderly Campion women and the car belonged to one victim.

Haxtun Man Dies In One-Car Crash In Phillips County
A Haxtun resident, Michile Raffaeli aged 69, died after a single vehicle overturned about eight miles northeast of Haxtun on Cole Highway 59. He suffered severe head injuries and was treated at a Haxtun hospital before dying later that morning at Logan Hospital in Sterling. The crash raised Colorado 1972 traffic fatalities to 734, up 105 from the previous year.

Four Guilty Of Illegally Settling On U S Property
In Denver, four defendants Mark Potvin Chuck Winslow Miss Pogo Tweedy and Miss Margaret Hart were found guilty by U S District Court of settling illegally on Apache National Forest land near a large festival site. They plus three others faced charges for refusing to leave and for mining claims. Potvin and Winslow were also convicted of cutting timber and erecting a log cabin and two tepee shelters in the valley after the Strawberry Lake Festival last July.
