Greeley police seek four day work week and more officers
Greeley police union attorney George Ashen asked the city council budget hearing to add 14 officers, enable a four day ten hour week, raise base pay from 612 to 603 dollars monthly, boost salary steps, and grant more sick leave and standby pay. Other requests included rodeo facility improvements, funding for a mental health center program, a juvenile diversion effort, and a housing council human relations director. City Manager Huffman said general fund requests exceed projected revenue and plans to trim the budget before the September 14 submission.
