A line with maximum 7 percent grade with traffic and 5 percent against traffic has been located. Federal approval not yet given but preliminary government engineer review was favorable. The commission prepares data for secretary of agriculture approval. The road would connect Lewis town to Roundup and open a large, roadless agricultural area for year round motor travel.

Cleveland November 29 government officials say a new poisonous gas called methyl 72 times deadlier than mustard was nearly deployed before armistice. Only three men knew of its potential six months ago one American chemist aided the government. One drop could be fatal and German gas masks offer no protection as methyl may convert to diazo methame when exposed to mask chemicals.
