Wetmore Renominated in 27th District Republican Convention

State Senator Fred G. Wetmore of Cadillac was renominated by Republicans of the 27th District. Temporary officers include Dr. E. B. Babcock of Kalkaska as chair and Robert F. Waller of Traverse City as temporary secretary. Delegates listed from Kalkaska Grand Traverse Wexford Leelanau Missaukee and Antrim. Arthur H. Webber of Cadillac spoke for Wetmore and the convention instructed the secretary to cast its ballot for re nomination.

Miss Eva Thurtell and Miss Roberta Kehoe depart this morning and Monday respectively, with 27 students including Miss Marian Gibbs and Ed Ransom and Clyde Morrison from Northport and Yuba. Olivet sends three more to the School of Mines at Hastings and Norfolk State. Julia Williams heads to Smith College with W B Williams as father. Ralph Thacker shifts to coach and YMCA secretary while pursuing a BA at Olivet. East Jordan sends three girls Frances Malpas Myrtle Severance and Marjorie Hoyt toward the University of Michigan.

David Wolf elected president of the Kelley Lumber & Shingle Co at its organization with $200,000 capital.
