George Bennett and wife return from Virginia after a year away, deciding Michigan remains home. Mrs. Ida Bronze and her mother visit relatives at Harbor Springs. George Downer and wife attend Church of Christ services Sunday. Henry Smith remodels his house exterior. James Cargill family visits cousin Mrs. Downer, Nov 2.
Don Pike and Abbie Payne of Cedar Run attend Young Peoples meeting Sunday evening. Mr McCowan and family attend Lake Ann meeting. Halloween passed with little disturbance by youths. Mrs Curtis Argivine visits G V Benson. Hugh Palmer and Nimenaw of Umpire visit and attend services. Pettengill puts potatoes in cellar with Earl Corbit assisting. Prayer meeting set at Fitch Brooks home Thursday evening November 12.
Mrs Frank Murphy and daughter from Rapid City arrive with household goods to settle here. C Monroe of Traverse City repairs mill boilers for D Hl Day. Oscar Prause buys Fred Fortin place adjoining his recent purchase from Mrs Chas Fortin. Chapman and Whitbeck visit from Armour Co and National Biscuit Co. Various locals including Loretta Shea of Empire take teaching posts and several men travel with Doctor Fra lic.
The Saturday event at Mr and Mrs Earl Gray's featured games and a fortune telling kettle. The children reported a grand success with a fine menu and hope for another Hallowe'en gathering soon. Mrs Elmer Abbe visited during the celebration.
Mrs Kate Ayer and daughter of Grawn returned home last week. Dan Pratt drove to Traverse City to visit his wife. Mrs Dan Wright and Jr plan to move to Lake Ann. Mrs Willie Lake and husband left for Manistee for an operation. she is recovering well. N T Nelson and Wilse plastering for D Pratt. Fred and Jace Wilson visited Platte to see her parents. Pie social on Nov 14 at Mrs Frank Rogers residence. ladies to bring pies. Proceeds to go to the minister. Mrs Frank Rogers is on the sick list but improving.
Epworth League Tuesday Night served a chicken pie supper that drew good attendance and netted about $15. The event provided social cohesion and financial support, with plans noted for the W. M. S. meeting moving to the first Thursday of each month. Local residents include Mrs. Lester Innis, C. Morse, Aug Luransaz and Douglas, and frequent visits among families in Traverse City Elk Rapids Alden and Detroit.
Miss Violet Cutting entertained a small party of young people very pleasantly Friday evening in Glen Arbor, providing light refreshments and cheerful conversation for the guests.

Mrs Clark of Traverse City did work during absence. Mr and Mrs Duval returned from Indiana visit. Misses Mary Williams and Maude Wagar spent time in Kingsley with Rev A L Haywood family. Mrs Harry Dowd of Monroe Center was a business caller Monday Nov 3.
