Fire Destroys Large North Plant in City Blaze
A disastrous fire swept the W. & Williams company plant at the foot of Boardman Avenue, nearly destroying the lumber mill and factory complex. The loss is estimated near 60 000 dollars with 25 000 dollars insured. fire crews battled twelve streams of water aided by volunteers as priorities included kilns, lumber designs, and 150 000 feet of rough maple lumber valued at 3 000 dollars. Nightwatchman Luke Hlaines reported the start in the south end and firefighters faced a furnace blaze that threatened nearby plants.
