Sunshine Club pledge and bustling neighbor tales
The Herald Young Folks Sunshine Club memo highlights a daily pledge to be happy and helpful. It notes 8,287 members as of 1911 and lists officers, then shares letters about a familiar neighbor and a lively yard of birds and wildlife observed by Mrs. Bates and young readers, including robin and oriole guests and a playful tale of Little Lame Lady grackle.
