Miss Chettal Caw and Ray Buchert united in marriage Monday at 2 PM at 150 East Tenth Street. Rev R S MacGregor officiated with the fell ring service. The ceremony featured goldenrod and ferns in the parlor and carnations in the dining room. The bride wore white marquisette over silk and carried white roses. Flower girl Madeline Wright wore white. Only immediate family attended. After luncheon the couple left for a short trip and will reside in Bellaire where Buchert is employed as telegraph operator. Mrs Buchert has many friends in church and social circles who wish them happiness.
Pearl Eva Elton wife of Charles Elton of Jacksonville Florida died August 17 at her parents 28 Center street Grand Rapids. She died on her first wedding anniversary after coming north for the summer. Burial was August 19 in Oak Hill cemetery Grand Rapids Xivs. She leaves husband father mother a sister Mrs Clark Treat Grand Rapids a brother Mat Lockhart Chicago and relations W H Abbott and A Wildman.
Miss Adelaide Martinek daughter of Mr and Mrs J N Martinek married Albert Hrabuk of Cleveland on Monday evening in a ceremony at the Martinek home 222 State street The decor featured asters sweet peas and ferns with Loehngtin's wedding march The bride wore a white linen gown and carried white sweet peas The maid of honor was Miss Fortense Martinek The best man was Chester Hummel The ceremony was performed by Rev Demas Cochlin The reception followed with a luncheon in the dining room The couple will reside at 9823 Woodbridge avenue Cleveland after October 1.
The county teachers institute opened this morning at the courthouse with fair attendance and some delay due to relocation. Superintendent McKone outlined objections to country schools and promised to address each in detail. Attendance grew in the afternoon as distant teachers arrived, signaling a highly useful program for county educators.

The steamer Harry Lee sank today at Brandywine Landing five miles from Memphis Tennessee. Three crewmen drowned while fifteen passengers and twenty crew members were rescued.
