J L Granny Ray 90 died Tuesday after a short illness in Grand Saline. A longtime resident from Louisiana and retired railroad man, he was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church. A reported 8 000 foot wildcat test stake was driven last Friday southeast of the Silver Lake store on the M H Landers tract southwest of 22g acres. Miss Lillie Hawkins of Fruitvale, longtime Van Zandt County public school teacher, died December 9 at her home. She was 64 years old. Services were held at Creagleville Methodist Church with Rev. E. E. Anders and Rev. Walter Gibbs officiating. Burial followed in Creagleville Cemetery. She is survived by her brother W. J. Hawkins Jr. and two nephews Bob Hawkins and Donald Hawkins.
