A special meeting of the Good Fellow Club elected Judge Walker as chair and E. C. Reed as secretary. Aiming for a $1000 fund, the group organized finance and relief committees at the Methodist Church and urged cheerful giving to A. D. Stewart or committee members for Christmas charity benefiting clubs and Associated Charities.

Obituary: E T Phillips Dies in South Bend
E T Phillips brother of Sam Phillips died suddenly at his South Bend home from heart trouble aged sixty two. He lived in South Bend over a year and worked for the Eureka Producing Company after oil field work at Eastland. Survived by wife and six children four living three boys and three girls. one boy and one girl preceded him. The remains were brought to Graham and interred at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev Gary Smith conducted the Graham Presbyterian funeral.

Welfare Workers Promote Colon ial Hospital Home in Dallas
Mrs. Anna L. Warren and Mrs. J. I. Gill visited the city to support the Colonial Hospital Home in Dallas. The non denominational shelter aids homeless girls with a 50 year Texas charter and relies on voluntary contributions from various religious and community groups. Jim Smith Acquitted by Jury in July 1922 Killing Case
The district court tried the Jim Smith case this week over the killing of Oliver Jacks on Oak Street. Smith claimed self defense as Jacks approached with a crank after a dispute over Smith's brother in law and Mrs Jacks. The jury found Smith not guilty after three days of trial and about two hours deliberation.
