The Baptist Missionary Society met at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon November 15 with seventeen ladies present. They adopted Red Cross work on Wednesday afternoons and will meet twice monthly thereafter. Members will host meetings at different homes due to school. Next gathering will be with Mrs Tom Calvin. Officers were elected as messengers to the Baptist State Convention in Dallas November 20 to 26.

The Cole cord well near Graham has surpassed 2,200 feet with oil and gas shows at 2,190 feet. Empire well south of Graham shows at 2,250 feet, with a company record of 60 days on the job. Producers wells near Graham and Arnold locations progress, with several deep tests planned and oil potential in the 3,000 foot zone. C. W. Oil Field Update Promising Drill Progress near Lisle
Last Sunday oil was struck at 2250 feet in the Lisle well and Monday night the third gas vein was found. The crew plans to reach 3300 feet where oil in paying quantity is believed, with gas already flowing. The rig, a standard drill, shows rapid progress toward Christmas targets while Goode near South Bend continues casing removal for deep sand drilling.
