The Graham schools end of term events run May 31 to June 4 with senior exams this week and general exams next week. Events include seventh grade graduation May 31 at East Ward and Shawnee schools, May 31. senior class play Fanny and the Servant Problem June 1 at the high school auditorium with admission 85 and 50 cents for library fund. Commencement sermon by Dr C R Taylor at Methodist church June 3, 11 a.m. and graduating exercises June 4 at the Methodist church with Rev Dr Lockhart delivering the address. Mr C A Russell directs music for Sunday services and graduation. Senior class roster listed.

Curtis Dickenson was invited to a national athletic meet in Chicago after earning records in Texas and winning the state championship in Austin. He travels with Superintendent Dinsmore from Wichita Falls and a Electra High School teammate. A Graham High School graduate and East Graham native, he plans to attend college in September.

Decoration Exercises At Monument And Cemetery Parade
The Daughters of the Confederacy and Confederate Veterans will meet Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the Courtyard Park monument, then march to the cemetery to decorate the graves of deceased veterans. The public is invited to attend next Sunday May 27 and bring flowers.

LL Wood Opens White Leghorn Chicken Ranch
Mr C L Wood opens a chicken ranch on Norris place north of the city. Mrs and Mr Tuttle manage the farm focusing on White Leghorns with a few White Wyandottes. About 4000 young chickens hatched since starting, two incubators in use, and visitors welcome especially around feeding time. Wood also raising turkeys and adding a hog ranch.

Revival Services Close Sunday Night
The Presbyterian church revival, held for two weeks, closed last Sunday night. Dr. A. F. Cunningham of Austin, a Scottish preacher, led the services to attentive crowds. Five converts joined the church as a result of the revival, including a tribute sermon to his late mother.

City Council Seeks Sealed Bids For Public Square Paving

Special Train of Fort Worth Boosters Pass Through City
The Fort Worth chamber of commerce sent about 150 members by special ten car train to Graham, arriving at 1 15 pm Monday. The group, led by a band in sombreros and vaquero attire, toured the square, hosted by Graham’s chamber. Fort Worth boosters sold the city’s pride, then departed at 2 pm for Breckenridge.

Sutton Oil Mill May Re Open Here for Full Season
The Graham Cotton Oil Company may restart the mill this fall due to larger cotton acreage and improved rail service. County Agent A L Robertson notes about fifty cars of cake and meal plus hulls and feed stuffs ordered. Stephens County plans a 20 percent increase in cotton, with three rail outlets via Wichita Falls and Southern road. The chamber of commerce supports operation, offering data and cooperation. machinery is nearly new and could be brought to work soon.

Sunday School Baseball League Sees Increasing Interest
Interest in the Sunday school baseball league grows as teams improve weekly. Baptists beat Presbyterians 16 to 3 last Thursday May 17. A standout Methodist Baptist clash ended in a darkness called tie after six Baptist runs in the final inning. Christians beat Presbyterians 5 to 3 in a strong performance, while standings show Methodists 8 0 0, Christians 4 0 4, Baptists 8 1 3.

Banks Close May 30 Decoration Day

County Trustees Hold Spring Meeting
The County Trustees Association held its spring meeting in the courthouse last Saturday afternoon. The meeting was postponed to May 19 due to the Interscholastic League. Nearly thirty trustees attended. C. K. Freeman was elected president, E. M. Ball vice president, and Edwin Hill re elected secretary. The next meeting will occur during the Teachers Institute in December.

Graham Lions plan active civic improvement program
The Graham Lions Club reports a busy meeting with two new members Wilson and DeShields and lists new members from local businesses. They discussed school medal contests won by Edith Rubenkoenig Lucile Norman and Willie Allen, started work on Liberty Park with a trail up the mountain, a drinking fountain and seats at peaks, and touted the club as energetic promoters of Graham’s upbuilding.

Judge P M Stine Dies At Henrietta
Judge P M Stine 68 a prominent lawyer in this section for years died at his home in Henrietta after several weeks illness. He was District Judge of the 30th district long ago. He had offices in Graham in the past and led the Stine and Stine firm. He left Graham about a year ago for health reasons. Surviving are his widow three sons and two daughters. The body was buried in Henrietta today.
