The high school prepares for diploma distribution as eight graduates, four boys and four girls, are listed. Sadie Scott and Margie Brayer lead as valedictorian and salutatorian addressing the audience. Baccalaureate sermon by Rev. J. E. Evans at the Christian church Sunday morning.
The Aprilian Leader reprints local items due to the illness of the Texas Reporter editor. Readers are told rain improved county crops with four Wes of grain, fields abandoned for feedout, and a push to plant more feed crops. Cotton prospects are positive though hail and calm winds accompanied recent rains.

Mrs G W Pratt longtime Eliasville resident died at her home last Sunday evening near Eliasville and was buried in Eliasville cemetery Monday evening. She lived thirty years in the country and was highly esteemed as a devout Christian. She leaves nine married children all present at the funeral. The Leader extends sympathy to the bereaved.
Graduates of Miss Nelle Grahams music class present a recital Saturday evening May 25 at 8 30 at the Christian church.
A crowd of High School students traveled by car to the Clear Fork for a day of fishing at 9 this morning celebrating the end of school. They brought Kodaks and a picnic lunch. Mrs. Eugene Marshall of Dallas is visiting this week as the guest of Mrs. C. W. Johnson. Mrs. Eudora Shannon of Crowell arrives to spend a few weeks with her sister Mrs. J. M. Birdwell and family.
Word arrives that Hall county pioneer J A Montgomery died Friday morning at 12 30 in Mineral Wells where he had been for months for health. The body goes there tonight for funeral at Jim Wilsons home Saturday at 3 PM. He was father of Mrs F M Burkett of this city and was well known to locals. Mr and Mrs Burkett and son Marion of Oklahoma attended the funeral.
Ferris Hall, who had been attending school in Ladonia, spent the summer with his father E. KE Hall near Farmer before returning home to the farm.
Mr. E. E. Buchanan and Miss Jessie Nicewarner were married at Rev. J. L. Hayes home in Jean last Friday evening May 17 at 7 o'clock. The groom is the son of W. W. Buchanan, a prominent Jean resident, and the bride is daughter of G. L. Nicewarner with many friends. The Leader extends congratulations.
The Daughters of the Confederacy met with Miss Lynnie Herron last Thursday evening for a pleasant discussion of future plans. After business, the hostess with Mrs. W. F. Babb served cherry ice cream and wafers. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Widmayer.
A Graham mass meeting at First Baptist launched the Red Cross drive with Rev. Gary L. Smith presiding and Rev. E. L. Moore delivering the keynote. Funds target is $3,000 for Graham and $6,000 for Young County with ongoing events including auctions, a beauty contest, a picture show, and a parade to boost fundraising.
