A cyclone on April 26 destroyed Peacock in Stonewall County wiping out the business district and many homes. Losses exceed $100,000 with families left destitute. The Cyclone Relief Committee asks for liberal cash contributions sent to G A Gray in Peacock Texas.
Bible School at 9 45 a m led by B F Stallings with H L Tidwell as superintendent. Preaching at 11 a m and 8 p m Morning service honors Mothers and cradle roll all mothers invited and everyone urged to wear a white flower or ribbon. Evening sermon titled Judaism vs Christianity.
Mrs W D Norman entertained informally yesterday afternoon in honor of her sister Mrs J W Loving in Jermyn. Progressive auction bridge games were played with Mrs G Q Street winning high score. A salad course was served to Mesdames M K Graham E B Graham Robi Fowler Chas Hutchison Harry Wadsworth Q Street L D Clark and the guest of honor.

The pupils of Miss Ruth Isaacs will give a recital at the school Auditorium Friday evening May 8 at 8 30 o clock All are cordially invited to attend.
A Friday morning blaze began in Campbell Texas in the business district at 3 30 o clock and wiped out nearly the entire business area. Among the heaviest losses was J W McLendon a dry goods merchant and father of school superintendent Edgar McLendon with losses estimated about 12000 dollars according to daily papers.
Sam Casey, the last second baseman, suffered a severe injury during a practice game on Wednesday after colliding with the right fielder while pursuing a fly ball. Doctors cleared him to play in the moving game tomorrow.

A group from Graham county spends the week fishing at the Stovall Plantation near South Bend. Local reports say more good fish have been caught in Clear Fork this spring than any since settlement.
The Canyon State Normal, destroyed by fire, will be rebuilt before the legislature convenes with an appropriation to cover about 250000 dollars. The new buildings will be absolutely fire proof.
