Catfish Fever Draws Crowds to Creek Bank
News from Sunday reports a fishing streak as town residents lined the east creek bank watching anglers land catfish and other species. The largest catch weighed 37 pounds. overall haul neared 600 pounds since Sunday evening with sales totaling about 14 dollars and a half.

Boy Kicked by Fractious Horse At Stock Pens
Ten year old Clyde Lawrence son of Mr and Mrs P L Lawrence was kicked in the face by a fractious horse at the stock pens last week. Two teeth were knocked out and a deep jaw wound required dressing by the family physician. He is reported to be recovering.

Methodist Conference Convenes in Weatherford District
The Weatherford district conference of the M E church opened at 9 with seventeen preachers about thirty five delegates and visitors present. Rev L A Webb presided and opening services were led by Rev Clovis Chappell. Dr Boaz delivered a sermon and Prof Binkley spoke for the Boys Academy. Conference praised hospitality at Gra ham and will meet next at Springtown.

Death of Mrs. Carrick In Oklahoma City Leads To Burial At Finis
Mrs. 3 E Carrick died at her daughter’s home in Oklahoma City last Friday morning. Her body was shipped back for burial at Finisewhetery Sunday morning. The procession included Mr. and Mrs. L L Spivey Bert Spivey and Lily Myers. J D Spivey of Port Arthur Texas met them here. She was 78 and had lived with her daughter five years in Finis. A long time resident, she belonged to the Methodist church since childhood and led a devout Christian life.
