The Young County Bar Association held its annual banquet at Capitol Cafe on Thursday February 22 with lawyers their wives and guests attending. Master of ceremonies Elmer Graham delivered a witty and lively program praised by attendees noting some extraneous speaking but overall a joyous and friendly gathering. Guests included Ibert Kay president of the chamber of commerce Judge Wallindha secretary of the chamber and other invited officials as well as Hon J H Aynesworth and Judge P A Martin of Wichita Falls.

Madame Petiiere solos delight National Theatre crowds
Dr W F Box of the National Theatre has been in the city several days. Mrs Box joined him this week and sang vocal solos Tuesday and Wednesday nights and will perform again tonight. Known as Madame Petiiere, she sang in Grand Opera in New York and Canada and paused her career for war work. She entertained soldiers, toured San Antonio where the city christened her the San Antonio Song Bird, and now primarily sings in church settings or for Dr Box shows.

Lynch Named Graham Office Manager at Supply House
John Lynch and Mrs Lynch arrived from Haynesville Louisiana where he has been with Marion Machine Foundry and Supply. He will replace Francis H Miller as Graham office manager while Miller stays with the company in another role. Lynch is a UT alumnus and has worked in oil-related business since college days.

Pioneer Citizen Wadley Dies After Lingering Illness
T C Wadley a prominent Tonka Wiley area citizen died Sunday afternoon February 25 after a lengthy illness. He was born August 10 1865 in Fulton County Kentucky and lived most of his life in Young County on the same farm. He married Arizona Wood February 17 1888 and had three children. one daughter died in infancy. After his first wife died May 8 1915 he married Minnie Cornelius February 23 1919 and is survived by his wife two children Willie Wadley of Tonk Valley and Mrs Anna Bell Wadley of Hereford six brothers and one sister along with six grandchildren and many other kin. He joined the Methodist church in 1890 and served as a steward. funeral services were held at the Graham Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon, Rev P E Cantrell and Rev T E Bowman officiating, with burial in Oak Grove cemetery.

Formal Opening Union Station Postponed
Plans for the formal opening of the new depot were under way by the Civic League, Chamber of Commerce and Graham Music Club but postponed by Secretary Walker after talks with railroad officials. They asked for a one to ten day delay to allow agreement on grounds improvements sought by city civic bodies. The building is complete and grounds are being finished with Chamber interest noted.

Eliasville Oil Field Promises Much Activity
The Eliasville field near four years old is producing about 9,000 barrels daily and is projected to lead Texas fields in activity and new development in 1923. Twenty five strings of tools are at work, with tests likely to bring Stephens county pay strata into Young county. Independents push Brown-Douglas pool toward the Young county line as extensions near drilling. More wells are planned on Cunningham lease and Stinson farm, with several tests west of Eliasville in Young county showing good oil.
