Obituary and Local Notices From Fort Worth Area
Miss Esther Jane Upperman died of tuberculosis of the bone at the family home in Fort Worth after a lingering illness. She was buried at Oak Grove cemetery after funeral services led by Rev. J. E. Evans. Born July 30 1902 in Iowa, she lived in Graham and Fort Worth and is survived by parents, four brothers, one sister, and a grandfather. Richard Turner died after surgery. funeral was at Oak Grove with Rev. Ashley Chappell officiating. He leaves parents Mr. and Mrs. Co E Turner and sisters Edna and Lora. The Leader extends sympathy.

R K Mayes Dies After Long Texas Career
R K Mayes a Murray resident since 1875 died February 22 and was buried in Tyra cemetery. Rev G W Black led the funeral. Born October 16, 1842 in Shelby County Missouri he moved to Dallas County in 1846 and later lived in Young County. He served in the Civil War, married in 1863 in Tarrant County and had ten children. He joined the Baptist church in 1865. He died at his Young County home, leaving a legacy as a valued citizen.
