Walter C Burns, 818 Elm Street, dies suddenly Monday morning after a weekend of improving health. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery with Masonic honors. survivors include five children and wife Ammie Gatlin. He was a Grahan Christian Church member, former county commissioner, stockman and merchant, noted for patience and community loyalty.

Young County Democrats meet to set ballot order and fees
The Young County Democratic Executive Committee met in the courthouse at 10 am to determine ballot order by lot and set primary expenses. With few candidates, assessments were high. all must be paid by June 28. A July 12 meeting will arrange the ballot and officers were named to oversee the July 24 first primary statewide, with two primaries in Young County and a list of precinct officers.
