Democratic Executive Meeting Sets July Primary and Dual Ballot

The Democratic Executive Committee of Young County met with strong turnout and named precinct chairmen for Jean and Connor Creek. A July 23 primary was ordered with a two stage contest for offices lacking a majority, eight to seven on the double primary, and lots drawn for ticket positions along with assessed expenses. Geo. H. McLaren named County Chairman and a subcommittee will reconvene July 11 to finalize the ticket with state and district candidates each paying one dollar.

Wild Man Appears Near Briar Bend in Graham Region

Excitement grows over a so called wild man seen nine to ten miles southwest of Graham. The man, son of Barneo, has appeared intermittently for three weeks, wearing clothes, building fires, cooking meals, and acting nearly human. He remains harmless and eludes pursuers.

On Tuesday June 21 1910 at the bride’s home Layne J Madison and Donna Clare Brooks were united in marriage in a quiet home ceremony Rev T Joe Talley officiated. The bride daughter of BD Brooks and his wife a former county citizen known to many in the area. She previously worked as a leading sales lady in a local dry goods store and has many friends across the county who offer congratulations.

Automobile Company Formed for Graham

An automobile company has been organized with Jo W. Akin as president Charles Widmayer as general manager and John C. Bower as sales manager. The firm will handle Ford automobiles and keep top cars in stock for immediate delivery and demonstrations. The officers bring extensive automobile industry experience and have built a fine building near the Widmayer blacksmith shop to house their machines and repairs.
