Potatoes of Unusual Size Reported in Local Patch
Alma Martin brought in an Irish potato vine with eleven large potatoes from a hill described as part of Ernst Goode's patch. The crop is unusually large this year, with C. D. Lisle growing the largest potato weighing just over one pound in his South Elm street garden.

Religious talks and community gatherings span Eliasville visit
Dr J L Gross will speak Sunday evening June 10 at 8 o clock in a Baptist church under the Texas Baptists board. Dr T T Stixrud, medical missionary to the African Congo, spoke at the Presbyterian church Sunday and in Eliasville in the afternoon and night. Monte Bowron and family from Lubbock visit Frank Bowron. The Leader reports fishing from Clear Fork and a forthcoming piscatorial return. Eliasville celebrated Registration Day with a large picnic featuring Rev T M Cunningham and prayers. Patriotic speeches by Rev J H Fisher and Rev S J Roach preceded dinner and addresses by Rev Joe Chunn. The issue notes hospitality to visitors and anticipation of future events.
