A vintage ad urges shoppers to buy from a dry goods store for well fitting shirts and durable collars. It touts soft shirts from 75 cents to 2.50, negligees 75 cents to 2 dollars, and neckties around 2.50 and 50 cents with a big line of spring shirts just received.
Sunday School attendance varied across denominations with 188 at the artist Sunday School on January 29 and 186 at the Methodists. The Fifth Sunday services featured Rev Rouse, sermons highlighted Christ and Nicodemus and The Father's Heart for His Son. The B Y P A held satisfactory sessions, the League met near a hundred led by Miss Bertha Eddleman. The Presbyterians reported 110 in Sabbath School and a special orphan collection of 21.16 dollars. On February 13 the local W O W will hold a rally and public meeting at the court house at 8 oclock. W E Young of Childress deputy manager of the order from this district will be here with his wife to deliver the principal speech. The Firemen s Band will provide music. Everyone is invited.
Open quail hunting season ends with hunters reporting very few birds and many are old. The season yields little for sportsmen and prospects for next year depend on successful hatching and broods. No wild geese or many ducks reported on the river this winter.
The passage notes forty new dinner pails for Gra ham within three months appear assured though Secretary Staton delays releasing facts. He says enough has been said to promise action within the next thirty days.
J C McCabe of the Rock Island Railroad arrives in Graham by motor car for a formal dinner at the Mountainside Hotel. Hosts and guests include S R Crawford J R Jameson and W H Staton with bankers, business leaders, and Rock Island executives sharing toasts and reminiscences.
Mr and Mrs Robert Walker hosted a lively gathering of young people at their east Graham residence on Friday night. The evening featured games and music with the famous string game to pair participants followed by rabbit and donkey games and refreshments.
The Priscilla Club, formed three years ago by Miss Bessie Paxson, is a needle work and social group with twenty five members. It has never hosted card games or dances and often avoids church meeting times. The piece urges expansion into reading circles and literary activities to enrich local culture.
